The Pumping House

Well one word to describe our experience at the Pumping House - magical! The whole team were very supportive and informative from start to finish, very accommodating of our Harry Potter themed/ballroom dancing filled day, and incredibly kind and understanding after a lot of family tragedy very close to the big day. The food and service - excellent, our guests loved the host a roast option as it was a fun icebreaker for all our tables. The venue - so unique, we and our guests loved all of the themed rooms. The main hall - perfect for a ballroom dancers wedding as the space is huge, and most importantly a wooden floor! Our wedding coordinator Victoria guided us through the whole process and made our day truly seamless, we couldn’t have asked for more!

We had such an incredible wedding at The Pumping House back in August! Being a wedding photographer myself, choosing a venue was a big deal, and I knew right away (having worked at the pumping house as a photographer) that it was the perfect place for our own wedding! It is the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, meaning, should the Great British weather interfere on your day, you still have some gorgeous indoor spaces for photos! Thankfully for us we had a gorgeous day & made the most of the outdoor spaces & surrounding woodland! Our wedding coordinator, Lian, was so helpful along the planning journey, we are so grateful to her! The food was incredible... (I've eaten a lot of wedding breakfasts in my job, and the food here really is amazing!) All in all, couldn't recommend this venue more!

Absolutely incredible. We got married early December 2023 and we can’t recommend the venue enough. Lian was brilliant and on the day everything was well organised and went according to plan. We wish we could do the whole thing all over again. The food was also exceptional - we had tapas and got so many compliments from our guests, so would highly recommend!

I have no words about how amazing this venue is. Joanne and her team are just the best. Venue beautiful! Team amazing! No question was a silly question and no job was too big or small. Our day was amazing, everything ran smoothly. Food was DELICIOUS! Every single person was shocked by how amazing their food was and all said it was the best wedding meal they ever had. The on-site accommodation was amazing! It does look a little pricey when reading the documents but once you see what you get it’s all worth while. You’re not getting a little bog standard premier inn room you are getting a full blown suite/mini apartment. They are beautiful, beds are so so comfy. All our friends and family were so pleased with their rooms and didn’t expect what they got and said no where would ever live up to their expectation at a wedding again. If you’re getting married I’d highly recommend this venue and the team! Jo, once again thank you for everything you have done for us over the last few years. We appreciate everything you and your team have done!

I photographed here at the start of 2022 and it's one of my favourite venues near where I live. The staff are lovely and always made sure the suppliers were well looked after and there are so really cool places for photos around the venue. There are tiny little rooms for guests to break off in and the downstairs is a huge room perfect for ceremonies and dinners.

We were blown away the first time we ever set eyes on the pumping house. It has so many beautiful historic features and was a really unique wedding venue. The added bonus of some amazing on site accommodation also helped us cater for younger ones and grandparents in our family who we knew may struggle to last the full day. We were so impressed with our wedding coordinator Lian who made all our ideas possible and took so much of the stress and strain away. There wasn't anything that we suggested that wasn't possible and on the day she made everything run so smoothly. Having good quality food was always important to us and the Pumping house had amazing options and worked with us to create some added options for our vegan guests. We were able to have a relaxed tasting evening, trying the wines and different food options which was brilliant and really put our minds at ease for the big day. The pumping house and their team of staff really made our special day perfect and it is a fantastic wedding venue!

The Pumping House was the only venue we looked at for our wedding; and we knew as soon as we toured the venue and met Jo the venue manager, that it was the place for us. Our wedding was originally planned for April 2021, and unfortunately due to the pandemic, we delayed it for a year to April 2022. Before the decision to delay, we had many visits, questions, thoughts and considerations on what our day should look like. Jo was supportive, honest, inspiring and helped guide us to our final choices, without being pushy or that it was “just another wedding”. When the decision was made to move the wedding, again Jo was so supportive and calming in what could have been a really stressful time. The day finally arrived and the venue, Jo and her team were exactly as expected. The service and care given to ensuring our day went as planned and without a hitch was first class. I’d recommend The Pumping House to anyone looking for their place to get married. Our friends and family have commented many times in the run up to, during and after, how special the venue was, how good the staff were, and how smoothly the day went. The Pumping House; a truly special venue with an amazing set of staff who run it!
